Madrid's catwalk kicked off with its youngest talents, participants of the 13th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent , a prize that supports the talent of emerging designers and gives them the chance to show their collection on a catwalk of the fashion calendar international. The winner of this award was the Galician designer Melania Freire.
Freire presented a work made with fabrics such as silk or cotton painted by hand with natural elements. With chromatic protagonism of blues, greens and lilacs, tonalities used by Hockney, the designer from A Coruña wished for overlays of patterns that illuminate loose and light silhouettes . The jury awarded the "originality and capacity of internationality" of its collection, as reported yesterday by specialized media.
Thanks to this award, Galician designer Melania Freire will present her collection, inspired by a David Hockney retrospective, at the international Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week.
In its thirtieth edition, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award continues to support the talent of the youngest designers on the Spanish catwalk and gives them the opportunity to showcase their collection on a catwalk of the international fashion calendar.
In this edition, Melania Freire will travel to Prague (Mercedes-BenzPragueFashionWeek) to participate in the only international fashion show in the country, which brings together the best creators of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. "I am going to be able to know a new facet of fashion and to parade on an international catwalk is going to be an incredible experience", adds the young creator.
